Telephone Responders

Western Service Office are looking for new recruits to train as Office Responders.

If you are interested in this essential AA service.
You will be helping the still suffering Alcoholic, from all over the country, find their way into the Fellowship.

If you have heard that nothing much happens on the phones or in the office, you have been listening to the wrong conversations.

Here are the facts:

The new ‘BT Cloud Voice’ service saves us money on phone lines and calls because it works over the internet, it also logs calls and if they were answered or missed; it’s has been in operation since November 21st 2019

From January 1st 2020 to Feb 29th 2020 we received 723 calls.

Apart from ‘our primary purpose’ of helping the still suffering Alcoholic, Responders are also:

Helping Members find info on Meetings and connecting them with other Members.

Taking calls from Members on Meeting changes & closures, and passing them onto WTF Liaison.

Updating the A3 Office copy of the WTF as changes are received.

Highlighting any meeting changes, closures or new meetings, for ECLO to update website meeting list.

Assisting in WTF and Flyer distribution.

Sending out blank 12 step lists to Group GSR’s and typing into our database the returns, printing out copies for the Office manuals.

Taking calls and emails on issues and requests, from the public sector, and passing them onto the appropriate Liaison Officer.

Posting or emailing our version of the ‘Who Me Pack’ to alcoholics and Al-anon callers.

Booking the Office back room for Group steering meetings and 12 step sponsoring.
