Bristol Convention 2025

What time does it start and finish?
Though timings may change a bit, we expect registration to open at 9:00am and the day to finish around 4pm.
What does Al-Anon participation mean?
AA Conventions typically invite Al-Anon to attend. The 2023 AA Structure Handbook recommends only AA
members should be ‘main sharers’ at meetings, so there will not be any combined platforms. Al-Anon will have
their own meeting room and their members are welcome to attend ‘open’ AA meetings and workshops.
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets are available online aa-bristol.org/tix into your browser. Also, various people are selling hard copy tickets at local meetings.
Do I need to buy a ticket if I am doing service?
With very few exceptions, yes please. More info at Find out more
Can I park my car on site?
Please park in neighbouring streets and, in doing so, please be mindful that this is a residential area and
considerate parking will be appreciated. On site disabled bays can be pre-booked: convention@aa-bristol.org.
Can I get there on public transport?
Long Ashton is served by the X7/X7a and X9 bus routes.
The closest stop is at Lovelinch Gardens, a 4-minute walk to the venue.
Journey Planner
Will you meet my dietary requirements?
We will provide a vegan meal. If you have other dietary requirements, please make arrangements to bring a
packed lunch.
Can I bring non-alcoholic family members, including children?
Yes, providing they have tickets. Most meetings will be ‘open’ (anyone welcome to attend) but it is possible
one or two workshops will be ‘closed’ and attendance at those will be limited to people who have a problem
with alcohol. Children are welcome but anyone under 18 remains the responsibility of their accompanying
adult at all times.
What if a meeting I wish to attend is full?
Your ticket guarantees you entry to the site and a light lunch but purchase of a ticket does not entitle holders to entry to any specific meeting. For popular meetings, seating will be on a first come first served basis.
Are there special tickets for newcomers?
We do not, as a matter of course, provide free or discounted tickets to newcomers. However, individual AA members are welcome to buy a ticket themselves for a newcomer, if they wish. A few tickets will be held back, should the event sell out, to ensure those finding AA for the first time can still attend.
Will my anonymity be protected?
At the level of press, radio and films, yes. As Al-Anon are participating and children are welcome, some non AA members will attend, and anonymity will be similar to that offered at an ‘open’ AA meeting.
Updates
Ticket holders will be emailed before the event with further details of the day. In the meantime, please
